From the 24th April speeding fines have increased.
Under the new guidelines, fines for motorists caught doing 51mph in a 30mph zone or 101mph on a motorway will start from 150% of their weekly income, that's an increase of 50%.
This will affect those deliberately driving dangerously who end up in court.
The maximum fines allowed by law remain the same, offenders cannot be fined more than £1,000, and £2,500 for speeding on a motorway.
The minimum £100 fine and three points will remain the same.
