FAQ's

When do I need to change my tyres?

Tyres should be checked once a month and before any long journeys. The legal minimum tread is 1.6mm across 75% of the tyre so it pays to be vigilant and monitor this.

The tread depth of the tyre is important because when they are worn down, they do not provide adequate grip to be able to control your vehicle on the road. If your tyre has been punctured or damaged it will need to be replaced. In addition, if the tread depth has is lower than 1.6mm your tyres will need to be replaced.

Ensuring regular maintenance

Good tread will ensure driving performance is enhanced as the car will grip more securely to the road. In the event you need to break quickly stopping distances will be shorter with tyres with a deeper tread. Its worth remembering that fines may be applied if your tyres are sub-standard.

If tyres do need replacing it is recommended that they are fitted in pairs and for optimal performance consider using summer tyres from April to October and then swap to cold weather tyres during November to March.
