The All-New IONIQ 3 Debuts at Milan Design Week

The latest addition to the fully electric IONIQ range is set to make its global debut at Milan Design Week on 20 April. Shaped by Hyundai’s new “Art of Steel” design philosophy, the all-new IONIQ 3 brings a striking, confident exterior together with a thoughtfully designed, spacious cabin.

Blending everyday practicality with intuitive, user-friendly technology, this compact all-electric model is built for modern life without compromise.

Design & Dimensions

The IONIQ 3 introduces Hyundai’s new “Art of Steel” design language, combining clean surfacing with a modern aerodynamic profile. It features an “Aero Hatch” silhouette, a distinctive ducktail rear spoiler, and the brand’s signature Parametric Pixel lighting.

As a five-door subcompact hatchback, it measures approximately 4,288 mm in length, placing it in a similar footprint to models such as the Volkswagen ID.3 and Hyundai i30.

Interior

Inside, the cabin is designed around a “Furnished Space” concept, focusing on comfort, flexibility, and sustainability. Materials are expected to include eco-conscious options such as ocean-waste-derived textiles, alongside modular “Bring Your Own Lifestyle” (BYOL) widgets that allow greater personalisation.

Performance & Range

The IONIQ 3 is set to use a 400V version of Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, shared with the Kia EV3. Early expectations suggest battery options of 58.3 kWh and 81.4 kWh.

Estimated driving range is expected to fall between 300 and 390 miles depending on specification, with rapid charging capability allowing a 10% to 80% charge in around 30 minutes.

A single-motor front-wheel-drive layout is anticipated as standard, with strong speculation of a future performance-focused IONIQ 3 N hot hatch variant.

Production & Pricing

Production is expected to begin in late summer 2026 at Hyundai’s Izmit plant in Turkey. Pricing is forecast to start at approximately £35,000 (€30,000), positioning it as one of Hyundai’s most accessible electric vehicles.
