Hyundai Warranty

Peace of mind comes as standard

When you choose a new Hyundai, you can drive away with the reassurance of comprehensive manufacturer warranty cover.

Every new Hyundai comes with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, giving you protection against eligible defects in materials or workmanship for the first five years of ownership. The warranty is designed to give you confidence that, should an unexpected manufacturing issue arise, your Hyundai is supported by the manufacturer and its authorised retailer network.

Whether you're buying your first Hyundai or you're already a Hyundai owner, we're here to help you understand your warranty and keep your vehicle in the best possible condition.

5-Year Unlimited Mileage Warranty

Hyundai's standard new vehicle warranty provides 5 years of unlimited mileage cover.

Unlike warranties that limit the number of miles you can drive, Hyundai's standard warranty doesn't have a mileage restriction during the five-year warranty period.

The warranty applies to eligible repairs required because of defects in materials or workmanship, subject to the manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions.

What's included?

The Hyundai warranty provides cover across a range of important vehicle components and also includes additional protection for your peace of mind.

This includes:

  • 5-year unlimited mileage new vehicle warranty
  • 8-year/100,000-mile warranty for high-voltage batteries, whichever comes first
  • 5-year unlimited mileage cover for 48V mild-hybrid batteries
  • 5-year unlimited mileage paint warranty
  • 12-year anti-perforation warranty for the body sheet metal
  • 2-year warranty on genuine Hyundai parts and accessories

Specific warranty coverage can vary according to the component and vehicle, so we recommend checking the warranty documentation supplied with your Hyundai for the full terms that apply to your vehicle.

Electric and Hybrid Hyundai Warranty

If you're choosing an electric or hybrid Hyundai, additional battery protection can provide extra reassurance.

Hyundai's high-voltage batteries are covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. This applies to the high-voltage battery systems covered by Hyundai's warranty terms.

For Hyundai models fitted with a 48V mild-hybrid system, the mild-hybrid battery is covered by the standard 5-year unlimited mileage warranty.

This means you can make the switch to electrified driving with manufacturer-backed warranty protection.

Hyundai Paint and Anti-Perforation Warranty

Your Hyundai's exterior is also covered by additional warranty protection.

5-year paint warranty

The exterior paintwork of a new Hyundai is covered by a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, subject to the manufacturer's terms and conditions.

12-year anti-perforation warranty

Hyundai also provides 12 years of anti-perforation coverage for the body sheet metal panels of new Hyundai vehicles. This protection relates to perforation of the bodywork from corrosion, subject to the applicable warranty conditions.

Genuine Hyundai Parts and Accessories

If you need a replacement part or want to personalise your Hyundai with an accessory, genuine Hyundai parts and accessories are covered by a 2-year warranty, subject to the applicable terms.

Using genuine Hyundai parts also means your vehicle can continue to be maintained using components designed for your Hyundai.

What's Not Covered by the Hyundai Warranty?

A manufacturer warranty isn't intended to cover normal maintenance or ordinary wear and tear.

Items such as routine servicing and normal replacement or adjustment of service items may not be covered unless a defect in materials or workmanship is identified.

The warranty may also exclude issues resulting from circumstances such as:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Neglect or incorrect maintenance
  • Misuse or an accident
  • Theft or fire
  • Incorrect or insufficient fuel, fluids or lubricants
  • Unauthorised modifications or alterations
  • Improper repairs
  • Certain non-Hyundai accessories or equipment
  • Overloading or using the vehicle outside its intended purpose
  • Damage caused during racing or competitive events
  • Certain cosmetic damage, including damage to paint, trim or upholstery
  • Tyres, which are covered separately by their tyre manufacturer

This is not an exhaustive list. Always refer to your Hyundai warranty booklet and the manufacturer's current warranty terms and conditions for full details of what is and isn't covered.

Keeping Your Hyundai Warranty Valid

Looking after your Hyundai properly is an important part of vehicle ownership.

You should follow the maintenance requirements set out in your Owner's Manual and make sure your Hyundai receives its required servicing and maintenance at the appropriate intervals. Hyundai specifically advises owners to keep up with scheduled maintenance such as oil changes and tyre rotations where applicable.

Keeping your service records up to date can also help when your vehicle requires warranty attention.

Our trained Hyundai technicians can help you maintain your vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer's requirements.

What Happens If You Have a Warranty Problem?

If you believe your Hyundai has developed a fault that could be covered by the warranty, contact an authorised Hyundai retailer.

Our team can assess the vehicle and, where appropriate, submit a warranty claim. Warranty repairs are carried out through the authorised Hyundai network using Hyundai-approved processes and parts.

If a problem means your vehicle cannot be driven safely, you should contact Hyundai Roadside Assistance or speak to us for guidance.

Does the Hyundai Warranty Transfer to a New Owner?

And, yes, the remaining Hyundai warranty stays with the vehicle if you sell it during the warranty period.

This means that if you're buying a used Hyundai that still has manufacturer warranty remaining, you may be able to benefit from the balance of that original warranty, provided the applicable warranty requirements and conditions have been met.

If you're considering a used Hyundai, our team can help you understand the warranty information available for the vehicle you're interested in.
