Read Hyundai Apprenticeship Gears Up For Placement Abroad

Read Hyundai Lincoln Apprentice Automobile Technician, Lloyd Dunwell, is gearing up for a work experience placement in Germany.

Lloyd,18, has been on the apprenticeship programme for a year and has already achieved the Level 2 qualification which puts him on course to complete his training one year early.

As a reward for his hard work, Lloyd was picked to join nine other apprentice's from Lincoln on the three week trip. He said: "It's great to be chosen. I'm really looking forward to getting experience working in another country so I've also been on a crash course to learn the language."

Lloyd, the youngest apprentice in the group, will be putting his technical skills to good use in his temporary role, he said: "Now I can work under supervision on any job that comes into the workshop so I don't mind if I'm placed in an independent or franchised garage."

Due to his success on the programme, he's also set to become a Certified Hyundai Technician after Lincoln Aftersales Manager, Tom Ellis, enrolled him on Hyundai's own training programme.

Tom said: "Lloyd works hard and has a lot of potential. He's a valued member of the team and becoming a Hyundai technician will be a great advantage to him."

Based at Read Hyundai, Lloyd spends four days a week learning practical skills from the technician's at Lincoln and attends college one day a week learning the theory.
